Hazel Beck will be the principal instructor for our Boots to Business workshop. Hazel serves as the Director of the SoCal Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC), hosted by Mira Costa College, where she is responsible for ensuring that business development services are provided to transitioning active duty service members, Guard, Reserve, veterans and military-connected family members.
In addition to her work in Southern California, Hazel served as the Director of the VBOC in Chicago and the Hawai’i Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Kailua, Kona. Prior working with VBOC and SBDC, Hazel owned and managed three consulting companies where she worked with global manufacturing clients and their Tier 1 suppliers in North America, the UK, and Western Europe to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
Hazel holds a B.A. in Business Management, cum laude, from Hiram College and is a Vietnam-era Veteran of the United States NAVY.
