The Long Beach Retail Academy Master Class 2020 is brought to you in partnership with the Long Beach Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the City of Long Beach.

This intensive 4-part class is designed to assist existing retailers in tackling challenges in areas such as financials, marketing, leases, hiring, operations, accessing capital, and more.

Retail establishments that are located in Long Beach and have been in business 1+ years, have employees, or need to add them.

What Can I Expect?

-A cohort style learning environment of 10-20 participants
-4 hands-on, working classes that meet every other week for 2 ½ hours each
-Individual consulting sessions, with an SBDC Advisor between classes, to work on homework and specific issues
-An actionable plan at the end of the series
-Access to key city departments and policymakers

Curriculum:

Class #1: Thursday, February 20th 11am to 1:30pm

-Understanding key financial reports & ratios
-Create personalized key performance indicators (KPI’s), Mile Markers, Success Indicators, Measuring Sticks

Class #2: Thursday, March 5th, 2020 – 11am to 1:30pm

-Customer Segmentation/Analysis
-Digital Marketing and Social Media
-Creating a unique, memorable and authentic customer experience

Class #3: Thursday, March 19th, 2020 – 11am to 1:30pm

-In-Store Operations, inventory control, CRM, etc.
-Team building: Acquiring, developing and retaining talent
-Funding expansion

Class #4: Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 – 11am to 1:30pm

-Presenting the plan
-Graduation
